Research

In order for criminological research to fulfil its role in relation to criminal policy and criminal justice, it must be systematically focused on the topics that appear to be the most relevant or potentially relevant in terms of the situation in the field of crime, its control and prevention. 

The research activities of the Institute, as a departmental research institute, are carried out on the basis of medium-term plans, which set the focus of the research and other professional activities of the IKSP for a five-year period. IKSP's professional activities are not limited to the solution of defined research tasks, but to a significant extent also consist in the continuous transfer of continuously acquired research knowledge to the wider professional community.
