Offender Development Prediction

09901904-350.jpeg

Anotation
The publication offers some of the approaches and methods used in the assessment of the offender, which are aimed at predicting the development of criminal behaviour (reconviction) of the offender, defines the different concepts and variables that are "responsible" for criminal recidivism. The developmental overview of methods designed to predict offender reconviction, which forms the next part of the monograph, focuses mainly on so-called statistical tools for prediction.  The publication then includes the results from the empirical part of the research conducted, which focused on the selection of appropriate predictors for the assessment of criminal recidivism. Their "strength" (statistical significance) was experimentally verified on a research sample of persons released from prison, whose criminal career was monitored for six years. The relationships between the predictors, the analyses of differences and correlations in the subset of persons who failed, i.e. recidivated, and the subset of persons "without recidivism", allowed the subsequent formulation of a working version of the instrument based on static variables.
