Specific aspects of the imprisonment of permanently unemployable convicts
Annotation:
One group of prisoners that has not yet received sufficient attention is those who are permanently unemployable (TPN). These individuals have physical, mental and sensory disabilities, which present them with a range of complex challenges during their time in prison. The Czech Republic lacks a unified methodology to address this issue, which is undesirable given the projected increase in the number of TPNs due to an ageing population. This research project aims to identify the problems that TPNs face in the current prison system. Based on these findings, specific strategies and measures will be proposed to improve the conditions and quality of life of this vulnerable group of prisoners, and to make professional work with them more effective. The results should lead to greater inter-agency cooperation and better integration of TPN prisoners into society upon their release. The findings may also contribute to the development of a methodology for working with TPNs professionally, including the content of training courses for prison staff.
