Shortened Forms of Criminal Proceedings - Possibilities and Limits
Anotation
The book presents the results of a two-year research conducted by the Institute for Criminology and Social Prevention, which focused on the use of summary forms of criminal proceedings in the Czech Republic, both in terms of the current state and the future outlook. The authors analyse the legal regulation of summary pre-trial proceedings and simplified court proceedings and their practical application in the Czech criminal procedure. They also deal with other procedural institutes that are supposed to contribute to the shortening of criminal proceedings in the Czech Republic, as well as approaches to speeding up and simplifying criminal proceedings in selected European countries. The book provides detailed knowledge on the application of shortened forms of criminal proceedings, in particular shortened pre-trial proceedings and simplified proceedings before the court, and its authors reflect on the possibilities and limits of their further use in the Czech Republic.
