The translation into Czech - book "No Place for Kids: The Case for Reducing Juvenile Incarceration" is accompanied by the translator's notes. It is a publication that is to some extent a continuation of a study by the same author, which has also been translated in the past by IKSP (Less Words and More Help - Effective and Ineffective Methods for Reducing Juvenile Delinquency. The present work is to some extent a continuation of the previous study, but this time the author has focused on the ever-again and again debated question of the extent to which harsh punishment of young people for delinquent activities is a successful strategy for diverting them from future asociality. For example, the book discusses many of the myths that accompany this issue, which promise unrealistic success from harsh treatment of youth.
