Adolescence in the process of disordered socialization
Annotation
The publication is based on an extensive empirical investigation of the issue of recidivism of juvenile offenders, which was accompanied by an analysis of the findings of some foreign and domestic studies on the topic. Thus, the subject of the research was various aspects of the life of juvenile offenders with a special focus on personal, family, educational, socialization and other similar aspects of juvenile life, as well as on the criminal intervention in response to their registered criminality. Special emphasis was given to the issue of recidivism. The aim of the research was to examine the causes and conditions of juvenile delinquency, especially the reasons for recidivism after having been confronted with the juvenile criminal justice system in the past. The research is primarily based on the analysis of juvenile offender files, expert questionnaire surveys and interviews with juvenile recidivists in prison. Attention is also paid to the analysis of statistical data on juvenile delinquency and to the analysis of current legislation and criminal and sanctioning policies applied to juvenile offenders in the Czech Republic.
