Violent crime in uncertain times
Annotation
The book maps opinions on the current state of violence in society, as well as the state of violent crime and its perpetrators from the point of view of foreign and Czech experts long-term devoted to the issue of violence. It describes the changes in the quantitative and qualitative indicators of violent crime in the Czech Republic in recent years, both within the scope of crime registered by the police and, on the other hand, from the point of view of criminal justice statistics. It also contains the results of research, the aim of which was to find out whether, according to the opinion of experts, there has been an increase in brutality and ruthlessness in the actions of perpetrators of violent crime in the last 10 years, or in the more frequent use of inadequate violence in other criminal actions. Mapping the current state of violent crime, where generalization of opinions is not possible, has the character of an expert's personal opinion.
