Differentiation of convicts in prison with security
Anotation
In 2017, the number of prison types was changed from four to two, i.e. maximum security and high-security prisons. This publication allows you to understand the process of placing convicts in the different levels of security of a maximum security prison, which is carried out by the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, and to get acquainted with the agenda of the secretaries of the specialized commissions. It also provides answers to questions about the nature of this change, the fulfilment of expectations associated with it, its impact on the execution of imprisonment from the point of view of both convicts and Prison Service staff, judges and prosecutors, and the wider context of public opinion on sentencing.
