Treatment of Domestic Partner Violence Perpetrators II.

Anotation:
This monograph represents a continuation of the previous one (Přesličková, Grohmannová, Malvotová, Novopacká, Paloušová, Roubalová & Kutil, 2023), which summarised the extant legislative assumptions and strategic procedures concerning the handling of domestic violence (hereinafter referred to as DN), or the treatment of its perpetrators and the responses to the most serious cases of this type of violence. The present book places greater emphasis on the needs of the system of treatment of perpetrators of domestic violence in the Czech Republic in general, and not solely in the context of sanction systems. The objective of this study was to utilise the findings from the empirical component of the research, encompassing the integration of diverse research methodologies and the application of various research instruments, to examine the prevailing circumstances, the potential outcomes, and, most significantly, the insights of experts on the implementation of the aforementioned practices in the realm of working with perpetrators of violence. The primary focus of this research is on interventions that play a crutial role in the process of eliminating or reducing the risks of this undesirable and socially dangerous phenomenon, with a particular emphasis on specific preventive work with the perpetrators of violence. These interventions primarily consist of therapeutic programmes (or other comparable interventions) designed for individuals who have perpetrated acts of violence. Despite the existence of the prerequisites for their application within Czech legislation, their utilisation remains sporadic in practice. There are several reasons for this phenomenon.
