Rape in the Czech Republic - crimes and convicted perpetrators
Annotation
In the monograph, the authors summarize the results of the empirical part of their research on violent sexual crime in the Czech Republic. In a short introduction, the legal regulation of violent sexual crimes is presented and discussed. The core part of the book is represented by the results of the analysis of empirical data, collected on a set of 584 convicted criminals who committed 796 cases of rape or other violent sexual crime. The source of data for the research was criminal files, so the information from descriptive and bivariate analyzes relates not only to imposed sentences or protective measures, but also, for example, to the criminal history of convicted offenders, the place and method of committing the analyzed offences, socio-demographic and personality characteristics of offenders, including psychopathology, or victimological variables. A relatively separate part of the book consists of a chapter that presents the results of an empirical investigation of a subset of incarcerated sex offenders, aimed at mapping the personality and criminal thinking styles of these offenders.
