UN documents on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on crime

Anotation
This publication contains translations of research reports produced and published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna in 2020. Four research reports have been selected for this translation publication, which provide insights into very serious criminal activities, or the extent to which the covid-19 pandemic has affected these activities and phenomena. The publication contains the results of a study on the impact of the pandemic on homicide, robbery, theft and burglary, a study on the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on reported violence against women and girls, another section on the impact of the pandemic on organised crime, and finally the results of a study on the illicit trade in covid-19-related health products. It is clear from the material contained here that considerable effort has been made by UNODC to understand the nature and implications of the impact of the pandemic, and as a result a number of research investigations have been carried out, mainly focused on data collection, with the participation of 36 international and regional organizations that have collected and provided the necessary data in their area of competence.
