The effectiveness of criminal policy from the point of view of recidivism
Annotation
The publication analyzes the main development trends of the sanctioning policy and subsequently the development of the prison population. Depending on this, legislative and conceptual measures are proposed to ensure that the sanctioning policy better ensures the protection of citizens from crime, including the reduction of recidivism, and at the same time does not lead to an excessive increase in the number of prisoners. The current state of recidivism monitoring in our country and abroad is described, the current state of recidivism monitoring is evaluated and a new system is proposed that can systematically and long-term monitor data on recidivism.
