The Public and the Penal Policy
Anotation
The monograph presents the results of a research focused on the knowledge and attitudes of citizens in the field of fundamental aspects of criminal policy. Through a representative public opinion survey IKSP_TP2009, the opinions of the Czech public on the state and development of crime, the level of criminality or tolerance among citizens, their views on the function and activities of the criminal justice system and its institutions, their opinions on the state of relevant legislation, as well as the perceived public awareness of the issue were examined. The findings of the public opinion survey are complemented by a literature study and a secondary analysis of the results of previous research on the topic.
