The Influence of Selected Regulations of the Great Criminal Code Amendment on Criminal Proceedings Process

Anotation
The publication summarises the main findings from extensive research on the impact of selected provisions of the so-called major amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code on the course of criminal proceedings, which was carried out by the Institute for Criminology and Social Prevention in 2004-2007. The research dealt with four aspects of the major amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code - the introduction of the so-called summary proceedings, changes in the position and role of the prosecutor in criminal proceedings, changes in custody proceedings and changes in appeal proceedings. The publication presents an assessment of the impact of the amendment in these areas on criminal procedure practice and also contains recommendations and suggestions de lege ferenda.
