Use of legal tools to combat organized crime
Annotation
The publication is an output of the research task of the Institute for Criminology and Social Prevention "Organized crime in the Czech Republic - development, possible criminogenic factors, selected activities and legal instruments of punishment". The work focuses mainly on the effectiveness of selected criminal tools (especially operational search tools and the issue of the use of wiretaps as evidence in court practice) in combating organised crime, but in a broader context also on other institutes of Czech "extra-criminal" legal norms that shape the procedure of the authorities in combating organised crime. The STUDY also focuses on the effective balancing of the interest of fighting organised crime with the protection of the guaranteed rights and freedoms of citizens in the formulation and use of instruments for detecting and prosecuting organised crime. The study also highlights some of the possibilities of hiding assets and their anonymization, and the related concealment of the structures of the real owners of the companies.
